1991 – Gathering of the Tribes – Pacific Amphitheatre
Went to this show with Cathy. This is the one with EPMD. Primus headlined this show. X and Fishbone also played. We had a good time watching people and making up lives for them. That was a game Cathy and I played while we people watched.
1991 – Morrissey - Forum
Opening band Phranc, ok Bianca and Cathy go for it!
We went as a group with some friends from our neighborhood.
It was an adventure and I learned to go to shows with people I trust. Cathy, Shawn and Bianca were there with me. It was a great show.
I like Morrissey. Forget all the drama surrounding him, he is an entertainer. Swinging the microphone cord, flowers being thrown on stage, fans jumping up onstage to touch him, singing along with all the songs. I had a good time.

1991 – Happy Mondays – Hollywood Palladium
I liked that fun dance music coming out of Manchester at this time. I went to this show because of it. I just read the review of this show from the L.A. Times and apparently it was a huge disappointment. I remember having a good time. So much for reviews!
1991 - 10th Annual Bob Marley Day – L.B. Arena
Don’t remember who was the headliner at this show, I think it was Maxi Priest. I went to these festivals because I missed the Bahamas. I lived there for a while and I missed the food and the music and the culture. This festival brought a little of that back to me. I also liked the presentations that Roger Steffens did to keep Bob’s memory alive. Roger Steffens is a treasure. I wish I still had all the tapes I got from the fund raising drives they had during the radio show he did called Reggae Beat. It was one of the best showcases for reggae music ever. I always felt these shows grounded me in a way, like a religious retreat.
1991 – Jane’s Addiction – Universal Amphitheatre
I was in love with this band. They had some magic about them that no one else had at the time. This was their big show after they had made it. They were the big MTV band, their videos were on all the time. Opening band on this tour was Nine Inch Nails, this was a band I was loving more and more.

1990 - KROQ Acoustic Xmas - Universal Amphitheatre
The first of the official KROQ Acoustic XMAS shows.
I ended up going to a few of them. But I was the ultimate
KROQ fan in those days. I won so much stuff from them
at one time that they sent me a W-2 at the end of the year!
I won trips, concert tickets, cd's, you name it! I felt like I
had a direct line to them!
But, back to this show...
The line up for this show was;
Dramarama, The Havilinas, Chris Isaak, The Posies, Social Distortion,
Soho, The Trash Can Sinatras
It really was acoustic too. This was when the bands took it seriously.
