1992 – Erasure – Wiltern Theatre

1992 11.24 Erasure The Wiltern

This was an amazing show!  One of my all time favourites!  Went with Cathy.
We had good seats too!  But there isn't a bad seat at The Wiltern!
This show was campy and fun and pure entertainment.  Loved the many costume changes!!

Set List:

  1. Remember when he sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" in nothing but a sequen speedo and high heels! And you remember that hot air balloon they had! It was not a concert it was show! And I still think that lady in front of us was a hooker! Remember her perfume smelled! ugh!

  2. I was there! Such an amazing show! And Durbinator is right, it was a theatrical spectacle (with intermission!) - not just a concert. That is one of my favorite memories. And when he sang Somewhere over the Rainbow, all of the butch guys in the audience wearing head to toe leather put their arms around each other and swayed side to side. Same year as U2's Zoo TV tour, too. Both amazing!

  3. Best concert I ever saw...even after the car broke down on the way home...and I was in a sequined vest!

  4. That was an incredible spectacle, indeed. They were at their pinnacle at that time.

Right before the lights dimmed for showtime, 2 fashionably late "glamour ladies" waltzed down the center aisle and took their seats down front and center, to much hooting and hollering from the crowd.

    Memorable moments:

Andy Bell came rolling out on a huge white swan.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow was amazing... still one of the best individual songs I have ever heard at a concert...something about his voice was absolutely perfect. (Although from my balcony seat, it looked like he was wearing a diaper with those platform heels.)

I got the black tour t-shirt: "A Phantasmagorical Entertainment"
